Can radiation be observed? Yes, and we know that because in the archival recordings from the time of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster, one can observe a characteristic noise in the form of white flashes (dots or spots). However, the radiation level must be high enough for this effect to appear…
But how high? There is no such information available, so we decided to check for ourselves whether there are still places in the Zone, where this effect can be achieved 34 years after the disaster. We went to one of the most radioactive places in whole exclusion zone – a flooded fallout shelter under the Jupiter plant in the abandoned city of Pripyat.
