Our 2020 documentary film “The Last People of Chernobyl 3” has just received a Polish voiceover. This version of the film can be viewed for free on Youtube.
The Last People of Chernobyl is an emotional documentary showing the lives of the Samoan people – people who still live in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, created after the 1986 nuclear power plant disaster. Their abandoned villages have no running water or stores, and often no electricity. Many of them are struggling with the hardships of old age. Despite three decades spent almost in solitude, they show a picture of humanity forgotten in developed countries.
“There is not a month here without death,” they say, adding that every now and then someone dies and that it will soon come to them as well. Today there are no more than 50 of them left, and it is likely that almost all of them will be gone in the next few years. Therefore, they are the last people of Chernobyl.
